WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN BUYING A HANDGUN.

Whenever you are looking to buy a gun there are many factors to consider however, we will cover and focus on the basics so that those that are not familiar will get the information they need to make an informed decision.
Over the years working with firearms I’ve always received this question the most “I am going to get my license to carry what gun should I buy?” As a member of sales we have a responsibility to see what best fits the individual. First and foremost what I above all else stress the most is THE GUN MUST FIT YOUR HAND. I cant tell you how many times I’ve went to other stores and seen sales associate trying to sell a handgun that does not fit. Below is an example of a firearm that fits perfectly as you can tell the palm of my hand conforms well with the back straps of the gun creating even pressure points that do not dig in when handling it. Grip Pic 2
The next thing to look for would be usability as you can see in the picture above circled in red this is known as the slide of the gun. This right here is the part that many people have a problem with due to the force that must be applied to the slide in order to chamber a round.  My biggest pet peeve when looking at guns is to always see if you are able to rack the slide. If you are unable to rack the slide I would not recommend that firearm to use simply for not being able to operate it if a situation may arise. Fact:(Not all slides are the same) What I can tell you is depending on the individual each side is made differently with different internal components that make operation differ from each gun.
This of which brings me to gun quality if you are purchasing a handgun for protection at home I would suggest you buy a shotgun for the simple fact a shotgun can project many projectiles at once over a pistol. With that being said as far as quality is concerned in todays market a quality gun would run you on average of around $300-500 dollars. Most people think that a gun is a gun. In other words what’s the difference? The difference is the quality and reliability behind the gun. If you ever need a gun to rely on you want to make sure you buy a gun that will perform aside from saving a few dollars for a quick deal.Grip Pic
The picture above shows a quality firearm that I currently possess as you can see on the top of the firearm the sights are of clear quality. There are many variations of sights that can be used with a variety of  handguns such as tritium sights that are low light reactive these of which are great at night and others that work great during the day such as true glow sights. In the image below these will be your standard sights for most if not all base firearms that you will find at any major gun store and or sporting goods store.
Lastly I want to talk about magazine capacity. This to me is the most important and the reason being you never know what situation may arise. For example say your going for a run through your neighborhood and there is a group of individuals that intend to harm you, they are armed and you have to protect yourself. My philosophy when it comes to having ammo would be I’d rather have a surplus than to need more as you can see from the picture below. This magazine has a 17 round capacity other similar magazine will vary in size and both shape.Note:( Each state is different and have their own magazine capacity laws so please check into them before purchasing a non-compliant magazine as per state laws.)   Mag Pic To those of you that subscribe to this blog please…please…please review the information I have put in front of you to made the best decision for you when it comes to picking a firearm.
